Laura Derr received ordination through All Faiths Seminary International in 2016. She is a psychologist who has been in clinical practice in the Boston area for 30 years. While in grad school, she started a 20-year practice of Buddhism with Thich Nhat Hanh, and received ordination as a lay member of the community. She began reading A Course In Miracles ten years ago, which is closer to Buddhism than Christianity. it was instantly clear to her that Jesus is her personal teacher and that his Course was the connecting link between her Christian childhood and adult Buddhist practice. She has studied his teachings in The Way of Mastery, which connects her psychological and spiritual practices, and she has gone through the intimate experience of his teachings in A Course of Love. Through her practice with these three modern teachings of Jesus, her intuitive gift has flowered in richness and clarity. She has been drawn to the deeper meanings of the original Aramaic Lord’s Prayer and Beatitudes, which she has set to music. She has begun leading healing workshops using these teachings, joining her clinical and spiritual paths.
